Basic medical sciences are not merely abstract theory: they provide the physical and biological basis for every clinical sign observed in a patient in hospital.

When studying an anatomical or histological structure, always ask what would happen if there were an obstruction, inflammation or a tumour at that exact location. What symptoms would appear?

Connecting cellular physiology with drug mechanisms and the effects of genetic dysfunction provides a deeper understanding than memorising disconnected disease tables.

Read the central concept and clinical connection provided at the end of each platform lesson to see how the information applies in practice.
